ACCOUNT MANAGER

Position Location: 3650 W Market St

Hours: Full-Time | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Scope: The Account Management position with The YGS Group is expected to possess the level of scheduling, planning, service, and production skills that are required to be the best in the industry. The Account Manager expedites projects and is the service liaison between the customer, sales, production, and multiple production platforms. The successful candidate will advocate on behalf of the client by establishing credibility through a proactive, collaborative, and efficient approach to all affected parties. This position is responsible for the day-to-day service and support of our clients, data management, coordination, and tracking of client projects and resources.

Essential Functions

This position exists to perform the essential functions. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  1. Responsible for all aspects of the order from inception to entry, as well as follow through beyond this point.
  2. Initiates, responds, and documents all communications with customers, sales, and manufacturing personnel regarding changes to job specifications or any other pertinent information.
  3. Communicates all schedules, material, and quality and delivery information to the customer, within four hours of receiving such information from planning, scheduling, or manufacturing.
  4. Determines and fulfills customer requirements, including those not stated in the contract or job specifications.
  5. Ensures the entry into production of all complete project materials on day of receipt.
  6. Seeks information from the customer that may lead to other sales opportunities and communicates this information to the Sales team.
  7. Maintains a professional demeanor and an enthusiastic attitude.
  8. Follows all required safety procedures such as PPE’s, ergonomics, chemical hazards, etc.
  9. Performs a job in a manner that protects the health and safety of all employees.
  10. Other duties, as assigned.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing and/or Communication fields, preferred.

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of customer service principles and processes, including assessing customer needs, meeting quality standards, and evaluating satisfaction.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in offset, digital, and wide-format print processes, with the ability to provide advisory and consultative support to corporate clients.
  • Prior experience as an Account Manager in a high-volume print manufacturing environment required.
  • Proven ability in problem resolution, with sound judgment and comfort in decision-making and risk assessment.
  • Working knowledge of prepress, press, bindery, fulfillment, and distribution processes from a service perspective.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word and Excel) and order entry/production systems such as EFI PACE or similar platforms; ability to quickly learn new software.
  • Familiarity with desktop publishing tools, including QuarkXPress, PageMaker, Freehand, Illustrator, Photoshop, and PDF workflows.
  • Basic knowledge of file preflight (e.g., bleed, sizing, and file setup requirements).
  • Understanding of cost systems, pricing structures, and product profitability.
  • Strong grasp of written communication, including grammar, composition, and professional correspondence.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures, including record management and general office systems.
  • General understanding of computer hardware and software relevant to the role.
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service, project management, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective client relationships.
  • Active listening skills, with the ability to understand client needs and respond appropriately.
  • Ability to clearly convey information both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, using logic and reasoning to evaluate solutions.
  • Proactive approach to work with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong comprehension and communication abilities, both written and verbal.

Physical Requirements:

Physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Constantly operates a computer/laptop and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, computer printer, and phone system.
  • Needs to occasionally move around inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 90 percent of the time.
  • Talking; especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas to others. Will be required to have conversations by phone and in person with individuals and groups.
  • Works for long periods on a computer.
  • Must be able to ascend and descend stairs.
  • May be required to lift to 10 pounds routinely and up to 20 pounds occasionally.
  • The environment is considered to contain low/medium noise levels.
  • The environment is not exposed to extreme changes in temperatures or weather conditions.
  • Additional hours of work as dictated by the needs of the business.
