ACCOUNT MANAGER

PRINT SOLUTIONS

Position Location: York, PA

Hours: Full-Time | First Shift 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Scope: The Account Management position with The YGS Group is expected to possess the level of scheduling, planning, service, and production skills that are required to be the best in the industry. The Account Manager expedites projects and is the service liaison between the customer, sales, production, and multiple production platforms. The successful candidate will advocate on behalf of the client by establishing credibility through a proactive, collaborative, and efficient approach to all affected parties. This position is responsible for the day-to-day service and support of our clients, data management, coordination, and tracking of client projects and resources.

Essential Functions

This position exists to perform the essential functions. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  1. Responsible for all aspects of the order from inception to entry and follow through beyond this point.
  2. Initiates, responds, and documents all communications with customers, sales, and manufacturing personnel regarding changes to job specifications or any other pertinent information.
  3. Communicates all schedules, material, and quality and delivery information to the customer, within four hours of receiving such information from planning, scheduling, or manufacturing.
  4. Determines and fulfills customer requirements, including those not stated in the contract or job specifications.
  5. Ensures the entry into production of all complete project materials on the day of receipt.
  6. Seeks information from the customer that may lead to other sales opportunities and communicates this information to the Sales team.
  7. Maintains a professional demeanor and an enthusiastic attitude.
  8. Follows all required safety procedures such as PPE’s, ergonomics, chemical hazards, etc.
  9. Performs job in a manner that protects the health and safety of all employees.
  10. Assists with general housekeeping in the customer service area.
  11. Other duties, as assigned.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or related field preferred.

Skills & Experience:

  1. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services. This includes customer needs, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of experience and knowledge of the offset, digital, and wide-format print processes and methods is required to provide advisory and consultative service to our corporate clients.
  3. Prior experience as an account manager in a high-volume print manufacturing environment is required.
  4. Experienced in problem resolution and comfortable with risk and decisions.
  5. Experience working with all aspects of prepress, press, bindery, fulfillment, and distribution processes and methods, from a service standpoint.
  6. Demonstrates a basic knowledge of all aspects of prepress, press, bindery, fulfillment, and distribution processes and methods.
  7. Proficient knowledge of MS Word and Excel, PACE (production system), basic desktop publishing, QuarkXPress, PageMaker, Freehand, Illustrator, Photoshop, and PDF.
  8. Basic knowledge of file preflight. (i.e., does the file have bleed, is it the proper size).
  9. Demonstrates proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  10. Demonstrates a proficient knowledge of order entry software such as EFI PACE or comparable. Demonstrates the ability to pick up on new software’s quickly.
  11. Knowledgeable of characteristics of products that are most profitable.
  12. Possess knowledge of cost system and rates.
  13. Knowledge of the structure and content of the written language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  14. Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology.
  15. Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications and programming relevant to the position.
  16. Detailed and accurate.
  17. Verbal and written communications.
  18. Versed in print processes and best practices.
  19. Excellent customer service, project and time management, and computer skills required.
  20. Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective relationships with clients.
  21. Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  22. Talking to others to convey information effectively.
  23. Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.
  24. Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

Physical Requirements:

Physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Constantly operates a computer/laptop and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, computer printer and phone system.
  • Needs to occasionally move around inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 90 percent of the time.
  • Talking; especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas to others. Will be required to have conversations by phone and in person with individuals and groups.
  • Works for long periods on a computer.
  • Able to lift to 10 pounds routinely and up to 20 pounds occasionally.
  • The environment is considered to contain low/medium noise levels.
  • The environment is not exposed to extreme changes in temperatures or weather conditions.
  • Addition hours of work as dictated by the needs of the business.
