Position Location: York, PA

Hours: Full-Time | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday

Scope: The Software engineer will provide development support to custom application development primarily in a PHP/Linux environment.  The ideal candidate is a developer who can work within a team environment and alone to complete tasks through the use of problem-solving, understanding of the technology they are working with and provided specifications.

Essential Functions

This position exists to perform the essential functions. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  1. Execute development requests to new or existing application needs.
  2. Evaluate the required changes and determine the best methods of implementation.
  3. Work with the Lead Developer to confirm the approach as needed and obtain guidance. 
  4. Create solutions using Server-side and Client-side technologies in a SOC2 Certified development workflow.
  5. Log changes, time tracking, and review all deployments prior to release.
  6. Provide and update written documentation around work functions such as how-to articles, project information sheets, deployment logs, and other peer-shared articles in the knowledge base.
  7. Other duties as assigned.


  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • BS in Computer Science/Development or equivalent knowledge and experience

Skills & Experience:

  • Knowledge and real-world experience in building and extending robust applications in modern frameworks using PHP, JavaScript, and relational databases are required.
  • Primary Technology Stack: PHP, JavaScript, MySQL, knowledge of Laravel (or equivalent, backend), Vue (or equivalent i.e.: react, frontend)
  • Comfort with scripting languages is required.
  • Excellent fluid problem-solving skills
  • Able to work autonomously based on provided requirements.
  • Able to think creatively.
  • Have a good attention to detail.
  • Be a clear communicator.
  • Be a self-motivated, curious learner capable of researching and learning new skills as needed.
  • Work inside a structured SDLC with Project Management and attention to standards.
  • Experience with Git for version control.
  • Work inside of a virtual linux environment running on a windows computer.
  • Ability to develop in C# and other languages if necessary is preferred.
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • Effective working independently or as part of a team.
  • Solid history of meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills are necessary.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective project management skills, ability to manage multiple, high profile, competing projects.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.

Physical Requirements:

  • This is a 95 percent sedentary role with the balance of time required to interact or help with internal and external customers or travel for business.
  • The position will require the ability to speak, convey information clearly and effectively, hear, listen, and interpret information accurately, see, sit, bend, stand, stoop, push, pull, lift, lower, and grasp, as necessary.
  • The ability to sit for extended periods.
  • The ability to work on a computer and keyboard for extended periods regularly.
  • The position may lift, up to 10-pounds regularly and up to 20-pounds occasionally.
  • Must communicate through active listening and converse with others to receive and relay information as needed.
  • This position does require a degree of travel between locations and for the purposes of attending business meetings, industry, and company events.
  • Attendance of meetings and YGS-related events will be required, as needed.
  • Additional working hours may be required as dictated by the needs of the business.
