MEDIA SALES & EVENTS ACCOUNT MANAGER Associations/Publisher Solutions

Position Location: York, PA

Hours: Full-Time, Exempt| Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Scope: The Account Manager is the primary liaison and point of contact for assigned media and event sales clients. Primary areas of responsibility include budget oversight, reporting, and client communication. The Account Manager also works closely with the Marketing Manager to develop and spearhead the implementation of client-related marketing outreach. The Account Manager assists with managing the collection, pre-flighting, and archiving of print and digital ads for assigned accounts. The Account Manager is integral in building relationships and communicating with all internal and external stakeholders including clients, marketing, accounting, and YGS Corporate Sales.

Essential Functions 

This position exists to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily.

  1. Will serve as the point person for daily communication for each assigned account.
  2. Responsible for new client onboarding.
  3. Will create custom report coordination with Clients, Marketing Services, and Accounting.
  4. Responsible for regular account reporting and forecasting.
  5. Will develop and maintain a schedule and format for regular conference calls and meetings with assigned client accounts.
  6. Develops agendas for client calls and meetings, and lead/manage discussions.
  7. Records minutes, distributes call notes, and monitor progress on open action items.
  8. Monitor budgets and performance, versus budgets for all assigned accounts.
  9. Responsible for market research and presentation preparation.
  10. Assists in developing custom marketing plans and media kits with Sales and Marketing Managers.
  11. Lead research and database maintenance to ensure contacts are current and up to date.
  12. Manage print and digital ad collection outreaches to advertisers (primarily email; phone calls as necessary).
  13. Prepare and send production reports (run sheets) for all internal and external clients on ad close and art due deadlines.
  14. Utilize ad collection and design software to preflight assets to ensure ads are to spec.
  15. Archive ads according to documented guidelines.
  16. Proofing ad placements to ensure all ads are included, artwork matches what was supplied, and ads are placed in the correct positions.
  17. Complies with the policies of the organization. 
  18. Performs other duties as assigned. 
  19. Works additional time as needed.



  • High School Diploma or GED required. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, or graphic communications, or closely related field, or combination of education and equivalent work experience, required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience

  • 1-3 years in an ad collection related field or account management role preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products on Mac and PC platforms, including Teams and Sharepoint.
  • Experience working in a CRM, Salesforce preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat Professional preferred.
  • Knowledge of preflight and printing specifications preferred.
  • Proficient in graphic design platforms such as Adobe, Photoshop.
  • Experience using marketing automation platforms.
  • Proficient in MS Office products. 
  • Knowledgeable of best practices in delivering a positive customer experience.
  • Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as organizational capabilities are necessary.
  • Flexible team player who learns quickly, can work independently, has outstanding prioritization and time management skills, has a proven ability to multitask, and works well under pressure.
  • Ability to maintain a fast pace and work with a sense of urgency.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Physical Demands

  • This position is stationary approximately 90% of the time with the balance of time required interacting or helping with internal and external customers. 
  • The individual in this position needs to move around inside the office areas to access files, operate office machinery, etc., regularly. 
  • May carry weight, lift (to a height of 3–4 feet), transfer, position, or remove materials up to 20 pounds occasionally, and up to 10 pounds regularly. 
  • Must see, detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, judge, observe, inspect, estimate, correct, and assess information as needed. 
  • Regularly operates a computer and other office machineries, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer as needed. 
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with coworkers, customers, and business partners to complete work assignments. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. 
  • Must adhere to safety protocols.
  • Must be willing to work outside of normal business hours, as dictated by the needs of the business.
  • A valid driver’s license and satisfactory MVR are required.


  • This position may require occasional travel and overnight stays of approximately 5% of total hours annually to attend trade shows, conferences, and industry events whereby YGS is attending, presenting, or exhibiting or to travel to additional worksites.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, required.

Work Environment

  • This job operates in a professional office environment.
  • This job requires occasional (domestic) travel.
  • Environment is considered to contain low/medium noise levels.
  • Environment is not regularly exposed to extreme changes in temperatures or weather conditions.
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
  • The work environment is fast paced and collaborative.
